Chatham Senior Ironmen are gearing up to host Senior Nationals and the Miramichi Midget AAA Twins are off to London, Ontario for the 18U Nationals. David Hale joins us to chat about the Twins and then we have a look at the Senior Nationals + the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League.

Episode 2

Ryan Somers joins me on The Run and we chat about the '92 Cardinals/Ironmen series and his unique vantage point as bat boy for the Newcastle Cardinals. Plus we dive in to the Miramichi Gagnon Packers march to the Hardy Cup, Hoppy Dunn, MVHS/JMH high school hockey memories plus WWF at the Miramichi Civic Centre in '94 and we set the table for his next visit
and his love of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Episode 3

Gerry Green stops by for Round 2 and we dive in to the Miramichi Timberwolves and talk about their first 19 seasons in the Maritime Hockey League. We dig in on who we would rather watch - a good team with skilled players or a geographic/regional rivalry. We wax nostalgic about some of our Timberwolves favourites & put our coach hats on and make a case for starting Tanner Somers in Game 7 a few seasons ago.

Episode 4

Kevin Bowes joins me for a chat about all things Chatham Senior Ironmen, including the ’95 National Championship where he served as a 12-year-old batboy. Kevin has an unbelievable memory and shares his unique vantage point. We also talk about the upcoming 2019 Senior Nationals, an early look at the 2019 season and we wax nostalgic about some of our favourite players and toughest outs in the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League from over the years. On the homestretch, we discuss JMH Tommies and high school sports.

Episode 5

Josh McCormack joins me for a chat about his current passion of being an on-ice official/referee at various levels, most notably in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. After his playing days were done, Josh pursued his current role. We talk about working games in Miramichi and being heckled by the fans, which comes with the territory. We chat about his various postings at prestigious tournaments including CIS Nationals, World Junior A Challenge and on the homestretch, we have a very candid chat about an accident that Josh was involved in last summer. Plus we touch ever so briefly on Kraft Hockeyville. We recorded the podcast just as Renous was gathering steam on their run to $250,000. I will discuss that monumental march to being crowned Kraft Hockeyville 2019 in a future podcast.

Sonny Newman joins me for a chat about growing up as a rink rat and we talk about his time travelling with Tim Horton’s Leafs and Miramichi Timberwolves. We also talk Miramichi baseball and Sonny’s days growing up on local fields. And we also dive in to his deep love of Dixie Lee and the Galaxy Dinner.

Chatham Senior Ironmen Head Coach Mark Noel discusses all things Ironmen as they get ready to defend their NBSBL title and host the Nationals in August. Mark fills Gerry and I in on the team, their imports and the league. Gerry and I catch up on some local topics of sport conversation and talk a little NHL, QMJHL and sports movies.

Episode 8

Kevin Bowes makes his second appearance and we have a dandy chat about all things Chatham Senior Ironmen, New Brunswick Senior Baseball League and the upcoming Nationals in August. Kevin takes us on a grand tour of the league, talks about Ironmen imports/lineup and paints a picture for the Nationals. On the homestretch, Kevin drops a Happy Gilmore in to his list of favourite sports movies. Gerry Green also joins in and he and Kevin take Paddy to task on an idea he had to play less games in the NBSBL and gang up on him. Gerry and Paddy also talk about Memorial Cup, Stanley Cup Playoffs, NBA Playoffs and a few other conversational nuggets.

Episode 9

Beaubears Island Executive Director Shawn McCarthy joins me for a fascinating tale of baseball on Beaubears Island and subsequently the growth of softball in Nelson. Gerry Green stops by to talk about New Brunswick Senior Baseball League, Memorial Cup, Toronto Raptors, Stanley Cup Playoffs and then the three of us go down the wrestling rabbit hole and talk about some of our favourites from over the years. The podcast starts with Shawn giving us a brief history lesson about Beaubears Island, a 161 acre gem in the Miramichi River. Shawn's knowledge and passion are to be admired and I appreciate him stopping by and sharing the story of the Beaubears Island.

Episode 10

Episode 10 is a wide ranging chat with Gerry Green and we tackle NBSBL, MHL, QMJHL, NHL, ECHL, NBA and FIFA Women's World Cup and we end on a nugget of a 15 plus year old piece of audio Paddy found in a Hotmail folder. The audio is Gerry and Paddy unravelling in Antigonish after a few too many brown bottles at the Antigonish Arena.

Gerry Green joins me for an in-depth chat about the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League, Chatham Ironmen and Jon Saunders being inducted to Ironmen Honour Roll and we also spend a few minutes discussing Mike Dunnett's induction to Miramichi Cardinals Wall of Fame. Round #2 of 'Gerry's Hat Trick' tackles MLB Home Derby and Vlad Mania in Cleveland, NBA and NHL + Kris Jardine (SnaggleJ) stops by with his unique perspective of the Home Run Derby. SnaggleJ was there and had a seat to the history making performance for Vlad. We also find time to chat a little Seinfeld with a few sports themed clips, largely focussed on Kramer and his shenanigans.
